Message from the Controller
As per the government policy to encourage participation of the private sector in the field of higher education, Shri Siddhanath Humanities Campus was established in 2037 B.S. in affiliation with Tribhuvan University. With the addition of the management faculty in 2040 B.S. the campus was renamed Shri Siddhanath Multiple Campus.
The Far Western University was declared in accordance with Far Western University Act passed by the Constituent Assembly in 2067 B.S. following an enormous public pressure after the decision of the government of Nepal to adhere to multi university policy in the country. After the bilateral agreement signed by the Management Committee of Shri Siddhanath Multiple Campus and the officials of the Far Western University on 11th Asar, 2070 BS, the community based Shri Siddhanath Multiple Campus duly converted into the University central campus. The Vice Chancellor, Service Commission officials, Registrar, and Faculty Deans were appointed in 2068 B.S. This was followed by the appointment of The Controller of Examinations, and formation of Examination Board in 2070 B.S.
The daily functioning of the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) is supervised by the Controller of Examinations. He is assisted by the Deputy Controller, two Administrative Officers, one Account Officer, one Head Assistant, one driver, one Office Assistant and two Security Personnel. An Examination Board has been formed to take necessary decisions regarding examinations. The members of the board include: the Chairperson- the Registrar of the university, two faculty members, and Member secretary -Controller of Examinations.
Since its inception the Far Western University has expanded its programs. Initially courses were offered in humanities, management and education departments. Later School of Engineering and Department of Science and Technology were launched. Undergraduate courses were offered from Mangsir 2069 B.S. and graduate courses were introduced in Falgun, 2070 B.S. The BBS program in the management department follows annual system, while all other programs follow the semester system. Entrance examination, midterm examination and end term examination are conducted for programs in all departments. Total number of seats available in BBA and School of Engineering are 90 and 48 respectively.
